Khuisiin Eight Lakes National Park

Located in the province of Uvurkhangai, in the Khangai range, Eight Lake National Park has the typical landscapes of the Mongolian high mountains with their large larch forest. After the volcanic eruptions that occurred throughout the centuries, the region of Naiman Nuur, "Eight lakes," formed. The park is 1.5 miles (2400 meters) above sea level. Since 1992, a total of 11,500 hectares of the area has been protected by the National park.

Dear VOM listeners,

In the brand new episode of the 'Wonderland in Mongolia" series, we talked about Khuisiin Naiman Nuur or Khuisiin Eight Lakes National Park. This area is formed by volcanic eruptions millenniums ago. Khuisiin Eight Lake consists of eight separate lakes named Shireet, Khaliut, Bugat, Khaya, Khuis, Mukhar, Duruu and Bayan-Uul and all of them are connected with each other through underwater canal. There is no concrete road that leads to the area, so it is perfect for adventurous horse riding.

If you want to know more about this beautiful place, please click the link below and enjoy our broadcast. Don't forget to send the reception reports.

"Wonderland in Mongolia" starts at UTC 09:18.

Thank you,

"Wonderland in Mongolia" series' editor Odonchimeg
